What Cued stores, and where

Everything you create in Cued (scripts, preferences and the video recordings the app calls takes) is stored on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us, so we cannot read or watch any of it.

Deleting the app permanently deletes everything it stored. If you export a take to your Photos library or share it, that copy is governed by wherever you sent it.

Permissions Cued asks for

• Microphone. Used while you dictate a script, or while you record a take with sound. Off at all other times.
• Speech recognition. Used to turn your voice into text while you dictate. On supported devices this runs on the device; where the operating system routes recognition through Apple's servers, that processing is covered by Apple's privacy policy. Cued itself never stores or transmits your audio.
• Camera. Used only while you record a take. The preview and the recording stay on the device.
• Photos, add only. Used only when you choose to export a take to your Photos library.

Every permission is optional. Cued works as a teleprompter without any of them.

What Cued sends us

So we can tell which parts of the app are worth improving, Cued reports a small amount of anonymous usage data:

• An install identifier. A random string the app makes up the first time it runs. It is not your Apple ID, not the advertising identifier, and not the device identifier Apple gives to vendors. It identifies a copy of the app, and there is nothing on our side to connect it to a person.
• Basic device facts. Platform, operating system version, app version, and your language and region setting.
• How the prompter was used. How long a read lasted, whether it reached the end, whether recording was on, and the speed, text size and mirror settings in force. Plus named moments such as "onboarding finished".

What is never sent: the text of your scripts, your recordings, anything you dictated, the titles you give things, your name, your email, your contacts or your location. There is no code in the app that could send them.

This data goes only to our own server. It is not shared with anyone, not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to track you across other apps or websites.

The website

When you open usecued.com we record the page you landed on, where you came from, any campaign tags in the link, and coarse facts about the browser such as screen size, language and time zone. Your IP address is hashed with a secret key the moment it arrives and the address itself is never written down: the hash lets us count visitors without holding anything that points at a person. There are no cookies, no third-party analytics and no advertising pixels on the site.

What we do not do

• No user accounts, sign-ins, or profiles
• No third-party analytics, and no tracking of you as a person
• No advertising and no ad identifiers
• No third-party SDKs that collect data
• No selling, sharing or transfer of personal information, because we hold none
• No tracking across other apps or websites, and no advertising identifier

Children

Cued has no way of knowing who is using it, and collects nothing that identifies anyone, including children.

Changes

If Cued ever adds a feature that touches data (for example, optional sync), this policy will be updated first and the app will ask before anything changes. The effective date above always reflects the current version.
